Ural dolmens may be older than the Egyptian pyramids
Scientists do not give up hope to prove that the mysterious structures called Ural dolmens, were built in ancient times. Perhaps this issue will be resolved as early as 2007.
At the beginning of the third millennium, in 2000, almost every resident of the Middle Urals talked about mysterious buildings on the north of the Upper Pyshma. Flat-topped constructions up to a meter reminded dolmens, located near the rivers Zhane and Pshada near Gelenzhik. That's why buildings began to be called "Ural dolmens". And in September 2006 on the congress of archeologists in Portugal scientists confirmed that the constructions on the Middle Urals are dolmens.
After a few years, Sverdlovsk citizens almost forgot interesting finds, however, work on their studying is progressing. Unfortunately, the search of new and analysis of old dolmens is not publicly funded. That's why the only organization that is now interested in small stone houses is "The team of adventurers". Director of this organization, member of Russian Geographical Society, Alexei Slepukhin informed JustMedia that now is found about 150 dolmens on the Middle Urals. Now "The team of adventurers" is conducting certification of ancient buildings: for each dolmen they give a certain number, name, and try to describe it.
About 100 dolmens are binding: they are located within a radius of 8 meters from each other. The rest 50 (some of them were found only in winter 2007), are randomly located and "seekers" try to find any relationship among them.
In the Middle Urals there are in total fifteen dolmens having individual characteristics. Club members are very interested in the fiftieth "Anniversary" dolmen. Its left side is composed of several stones, perfectly lying on each other. Eyewitnesses claim that you can not even stick a knife blade between the plates.
Our dolmens differ from dolmens in Gelenzhik made of sandstone, with their extraordinary durability (structures are made of stone). Aleksey Slepukhin says that in Stalin's time only in 400 meters from a dolmen lay Central Administration of Prison Camps. Prisoners of war who stayed there used to build furnaces for winter of stones. Now since that time has passed 50 years, campers furnaces broke up, but dolmen still stands to the present day.
In the Chelyabinsk region on the lake Turgoyak, from the tourists' stories, there is a dolmen with 30 square meters chamber, but its upper plate-cover weighs 500 tons. But, alas, Chelyabinsk archaeologists don't have such information. On the river Shitovskoy Istok about 20 years ago I personally saw in woods a few boulders set on each other like pillows, and I didn't have a feeling that it was kind of trick of nature. Different man-made stone objects hunters saw under Verkhnyaya Sisert.
Member of the Russian Geographical Society, Director of "Team Adventurers" Aleksey Slepukhin told JustMedia:
"On the meeting we declared that stone buildings belong to the 3 millennium BC, and among the experts there were no opponents to our theory. Usually academic environment is very jealous of such reports, and we are glad that everybody recognized the antiquity of Ural dolmens".
The opinion of Alexey Slepukhin team was supported. Valentina Victorova, the member of Institute of History and Archaeology, the archaeologist with an authoritative opinion, overturned the previous working hypothesis that dolmens on the Middle Urals were built by people who burn coal 200-300 years ago.
People who intentionally destroy dolmens, blowing them up or simply make inside them fires do not know what they do ... Dolmens "appeared" right now, so it means that only nowadays they have attracted attention of people, before over many centuries being as if in unconsciousness. The fact that they can contain a great mystical power is recognized today by most scientists and scholars.
Inscriptions on dolmens
There is no dolmen without "inscription". Another matter is with what "techniques" these inscriptions were done. It is possible to read inscriptions on dolmens today only having the hint. People who constructed dolmens tried to hide their mission for the time being, so you need "keys" to understand mission of dolmens.
Nowadays more than 200 dolmens are revealed in Pyshminsk and Nevjansk regions of Sverdlovsk oblast. The travel agency "Team of Adventurers" (Yekaterinburg) was actively engaged in their search. As a result of the archaeological study of two dolmens in 2007 - 2008 by V.D.Viktorova we got the material of III thousand B.C.E. Tiled dolmens represent the constructions that consist of stone & earth embankment with are attached to the stone chamber. The top aperture is usually based at the joint of embankment and overlap. In front of such dolmens we can usually notice a rectangular platform-patio.
Sometimes these structures look weird - build ups which are fencing off the top aperture on overlapping of dolmens. It is vertically standing plate or some stones that are laid against each other like pyramid. The original element of any dolmen is "ears" - vertical plates adjoining the chamber from one or both outer sides.
Bouldery dolmens are combined from the massive boulders forming the chamber. From above it is blocked by one or several compressed boulders. Usually these dolmens make impression as if it is natural formation which was just slightly adapted and changed by the person. However after more detailed consideration we can find out the accurate lay-out of all design. Despite the variety of forms and sizes of the chamber all bouldery dolmens are similar in one thing: presence of two passways - the main (in one of the lateral walls) and narrower passway between boulders.
As a whole the quantity of dolmens in Ural forests is great and they differ from each other by big typological variety. Certainly it can be explained by the time changes and different appointments of these objects. New researches will certainly reveal set of some new dolmens. But it's already obvious now that dolmens of the Middle Ural are a part of the Ural megalithic culture.
